Wimbledon Fantasy Draft: First Round Results

Fantasy Results After Wimbledon Round One
Men’s Draft

Team John and The Wozniacki Wannabes

Djokovic (2): 16 pts
Soderling (5): 16 pts
Tsonga (12): 16 pts
Monfils (9): 16 pts
Melzer (11): 16 pts
Gasquet (17): 16 pts
Dolgopolov (22): -16 pts
Isner: 16 pts
TOTAL: 112 pts

Team Mark and The Ugly Ducklings

Murray (4): 16 pts
Berdych(6): 16 pts
Roddick (8): 16 pts
Ferrer (7): 16 pts
Fish (10): 16 pts
Youzhny (18): 16 pts
Del Potro (24): 16 pts
Lopez: 16 pts
TOTAL: 128 pts

Quick analysis (by John): Mark got some lucky wins in round one but is still going to need a miracle to pull this one out. Murray is bound to disappoint the home fans again, Berdych some how got past the first round this time, Fish is picking his moment to underachieve and fail the U.S. yet again, Ferrer is looking for a baby to yell at, and Roddick may not have the most wins when its all said and done but probably will throw the most temper tantrums. It'll be an act of God if Mark has more than 2 players heading into round 3.

Women’s Draft

Team John and The Wozniacki Wannabes

Na (3): 16 pts
Sharapova (5): 16 pts
Zvonereva (2): 16 pts
Kuznetsova (12): 16 pts
Schiavone (6): 16 pts
Ivanovic (18): 16 pts
Kirilenko (26): 16 pts
Bondarenko: 16 pts
TOTAL: 128 pts

Team Mark and The Ugly Ducklings

Wozniacki (1): 16 pts
Azarenka (4): 16 pts
V. Williams (23): 16 pts
S. Williams (7): 16 pts
Jankovic (15): -16 pts
Kvitova (8): 16 pts
Hantuchova (25): 16 pts
Oudin: -16 pts
TOTAL: 96 pts

Quick Analysis (by John): John is clearly the better tennis expert as all of his women have gotten through into round 2. This is no small accomplishment considering how up in the air the womens field is. Meanwhile Jankovic was upset (remember who called/implied that?...depending on your interpretation..) and Oudin was slaughtered by none other than Team John's Ivanovic. Maybe if we do a U.S. Open draft Mark won't pick names out of a hat next time.

OVERALL: Mark 224 - John 240

  1. I'd rather go down a patriot than succeed supporting fascist governments like you.
